Humans are just like other living beings. We are born, we age, then we die. It’s the life cycle that all living creatures have to go through. Aging can be hard for some, it can be a long list of illnesses, diseases, medications, and so on, or it can be healthy and fun for some to enjoy their retirement after a long productive life with happiness, health, and a LOT of life experience. Our lifestyle, it is what determines the way we age. I am going to walk you through five tricks, easy tricks and habits that would give you a youthful feeling throughout your life, an easy and a healthy aging, and even prolong it, if your wife doesn’t kill you, of course.
The reason this is on top of the list is because of all of the scientific evidences that support it. A simple, mindfulness, meditation for 10 to 15 minutes a day is enough. It is shown that it reduces anxiety, blood pressure, increases attention span, improves memory and even improves immunity! Meditation is actually a must, I would say, read about mediation to know why it’s a must!
I’m not saying you have to go bodybuilding! But, studies have shown that even 10 minutes of running everyday have significant improvements on your cardiovascular fitness, not mentioning its role in controlling blood sugar and decreasing blood cholesterol.
Well, that’s a vague title, what is exactly a healthy diet?
There are lots of diet plans you can go by, but they all share the same concept, limit your processed foods intake, diversify your natural foods intake, particularly vegetables, fruits and whole grains, avoid too much animal fats, don’t rely on supplements.
4Avoid Smoking and Drinking Alcohol
I know when you read this, you were like, “Duh!” We all know that smoking is bad for you and it has been linked to many diseases and cancers. On the other hand, research is controversial regarding alcohol. Some studies show drinking red wine could actually improve health, but since this is not yet confirmed and it doesn’t include all types of alcoholic beverages, it’s better to stay off alcohol till further researching is done. Like we can, huh?
5Get Enough Sleep
This is a tricky one. Most people need 6 to 8 hours of sleep. Sleep less, it’s bad for you, sleep more and SURPRISE! It’s also bad for you! In fact sleeping 8.5 hours is worse than sleeping 5 hours! Although the reason behind that is yet to be known, studies shows that people who sleep 6.5 to 7.5 hours a day, live longer!
There are lots of other healthy habits but to do them all would mean to ignore life. The best thing to do is enjoying your life and avoiding stress which is, itself, good for health and practice the lifestyle that’s easy yet healthy for you. I mentioned those 5 habits because they’re evidence based and the best of all they don’t consume time.
